BAZNA Elyesa
I Was Cicero. In collaboration with Hans Nogly. Translated by Eric Mosbacher.
Andre Deutsch,, [1962]. 8vo., First English Edition, with 10 plates on 8, some very faint offsetting from fold-ins to free endpapers; original black cloth, gilt back, a near fine copy in price-clipped dustwrapper, the latter very lightly age-browned and rubbed at extremities. First published in Germany in the previous year, this is the now well-known story of one of WWII's most unlikely and successful spies. A valet at the British Embassy in Ankara, Bazna passed much secret information to the Germans and lived to tell the tale. Scarce in this condition. Enser, p.108.
